BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. – The Terraces at Bonita Springs, a luxury senior living community, has appointed Sam Guedouar, MHA as its new executive director. Mr. Guedouar relocated to Southwest Florida from Long Island, New York where he was executive director of a continuing care retirement community in Port Washington.
Although Mr. Guedouar has built his career in hospitality and senior living, his approach is far from “retiring.” On the contrary, his outlook is forward-thinking and enrichment based.
“Our residents are vibrant, vital people seeking their next adventure in life,” says Mr. Guedouar. “We want to provide every opportunity for new experiences and lifelong learning while offering the highest level of hospitality and service.”
Putting his philosophy into action, Mr. Guedouar plans to bring a host of programs to The Terraces at Bonita Springs that will encourage residents to discover new talents – culinary and wine pairing classes, floral arranging workshops, themed dinners, and language classes are just a few of his ideas. He also plans to bring staff and residents even closer together to emphasize the family atmosphere.
“As the Executive Director, I consider myself as the keeper of the promise,” said Mr. Guedouar. “The promise that we will enrich our residents lives by delivering the experience through caring service. I have to ensure that it’s delivered, maintained, and sustained for the rest of their lives.”
Mr. Guedouar spent his childhood in France and speaks five languages. His early experience includes serving as a tour guide in Paris, and working in the hotel industry. After studying hospitality administration and management at Northeastern University, Mr. Guedouar achieved his bachelor’s degree at the State University of New York and went on to attain a master’s degree in healthcare administration from Utica College.
“We want to be known for the people who work and live and The Terraces at Bonita Springs,” concluded Mr. Guedouar. “That means service and hospitality with a personal touch. Or as I like to say it, ‘See with your eyes, act with your heart.’”
